Horizon Europe work programmes officially published for the period 2026-2027

On 11 December 2025, the European Commission officially published the Horizon Europe work programmes for 2026-2027. As a reminder, work programmes are documents that contain calls for project proposals with deadlines and other application requirements. These are also the last work programmes with calls until the end of the Horizon Europe programme, which ends on 31 December 2027.

The EUR 14 billion investment is intended to stimulate research and innovation (R&I) within the framework of the strategic objectives of the EU. These goals include achieving climate neutrality, encouraging the use of AI in research and innovation, and ensuring resilience in a rapidly changing world.

The Horizon Europe work programmes for 2026-2027 have been published on the European Commission’s website, including the Cluster 6 programme, which covers topics from the field of bioeconomy: Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment

A detailed overview of the novelties introduced by the new work programmes is available in the European Commission’s statement The Commission is investing EUR 14 billion under Horizon Europe to boost global leadership in research and innovation.

We invite all researchers, project experts and organisations participating in the programme to study the latest documents and start planning activities for upcoming calls.
